Chess960 #406
One of the 960 Fischer random starting positions. Pawns stay put; the back rank is shuffled so the bishops sit on opposite colours and the king stands between the rooks.
Piece sets by Armando H. Marroquín, Utrecht by Hans L. Bodlaender, from Eric Bentzen’s En Passant collection (more on the fonts). Rules by chessops, by Niklas Fiekas, the library behind Lichess, licensed under the GPL-3.0, and so is this experiment’s source. Jev is TypeSafe AI’s System One model, called through Vercel’s AI Gateway. The coach is Stockfish, as stockfish.js (GPL-3.0), loaded only when the coach is on.
