A province that asks its residents for ideas
Public participation platform for the Province of Overijssel
Context
The Province of Overijssel wanted good ideas from its residents to reach the provincial house, and to narrow the distance between the two. It needed a place where anyone could share an idea, a plan or a project, and others could support it, join it or make it better.
What I did
I was responsible for the front end and the UI/UX design: from 2014 the search and filters, the map, creating an initiative and its detail pages, first in Angular 1, jQuery and Bootstrap. Later I led its migration to Angular 6, and in 2018 worked on its accessibility.
Outcome
JIJ & Overijssel won the Galjaardprijs 2016, Logeion’s award for the best project in government communication, chosen from 30 nominations.
